10K and 5K Race Course Description

The 10K and 5K courses are set above 5000 ft. in elevation with 360 degree views of the majestic mountains such as Grandfather, Mount Mitchell, and Snake Mountain. You will start out with a gradual climb before finding a mile of nice rolling pavement. For the 10K race, shortly after a fast descent you will cross the Beech Mountain Resort Ski Slopes, which open your eyes to 100-mile views of the surrounding High Country. It is all downhill after a 1/2 mile climb to the Land of Oz. This is a very tough, but fun course. Are you up to the challenge?

Race Entry Information

Race entry is $30.00 for the 10K, 5K and 1.5 mile fun run/walk. Pre-registered racers are guaranteed a race t-shirt, a post-race meal voucher, and other free swag in the works. For those of you 21 and over, you will also receive 2 free adult beverages upon finishing one of the ClimbMAX races. Race Day registration will be available; however, race t-shirts and swag will be given out on a first come, first serve basis and sizes may be limited. Be sure to register early to get your race T and swag!

Note: Running Strollers are allowed on the entire race course. Dogs will be allowed for the 1.5 mile fun run/walk event. Doggy water stops and "doggy bags" will be made available on the course as well!
